SkyHub Design Competition Overview
Theme: Adventure, Empowerment, and Limitless Potential
Objective: To create unique sweatshirt designs that embody the vibrant spirit of Girls Fly Africa and inspire the youth, especially young girls, to pursue their dreams in aviation and aerospace.
Eligibility: Open to all individuals (students, artists, designers) at any skill level. Participants can submit multiple designs, but must adhere to the guidelines.
Submission Guidelines:
- Design Specifications:
- Create a design that can be printed on the front or back of a sweatshirt.
- Use vivid colours, bold graphics, and meaningful messages that reflect empowerment and adventure.
- Designs should be original and unpublished.
- Format:
- Submit designs in a high-resolution digital format (JPEG or PNG).
- Include a brief description (100 words max) explaining the concept and inspiration behind your design.
- Submission Process:
- Submit your design via email to info@girlsflyafrica.org
- Use the subject line: “SkyHub Design Competition – Your Name.”
Judging Criteria:
- Creativity and originality (40%)
- Relevance to the theme (30%)
- Visual appeal and design execution (30%)
Important Dates: Submission Deadline:30 April 2026
- Judging Period 1 :1 – 15 May 2026, Top three designs selected
- Judging Period 2: 15 – 30 May 2026, Top three designs judged online
- Winners Announcement:31 May 2026
Prices: For the three final designs & the winning design include
- A Feature in SkyHub’s official collection.
- GFA and Skyhub swag (including sweater and T-shirts)
- Flight in an aeroplane and a simulator
- Ticket to our fundraising Gala dinner
- Model Aeroplane and many more from our partner organisations
