OUR APPROACH
Our approach is based on three foundational pillars: GROW, FLY, and ACHIEVE. Each pillar features programmes carefully designed to develop essential skills, including teamwork, curiosity, critical thinking, courage, collaboration, and creativity.
GROW PHASE
The GROW phase builds awareness and creates pathways into the industry. This phase includes a series of targeted programmes and campaigns aimed at reducing gender bias and transforming societal norms that often discourage young girls from pursuing careers in these fields. The phase includes workshops and camps tailored to help participants enhance their skills and capabilities, preparing them for success in the industry.
FLY PHASE
The FLY phase delivers extensive education and training opportunities tailored to the aviation and aerospace industry. It features a variety of skills development programmes designed to equip participants with the technical expertise needed to thrive in these fields. The phase also offers scholarships and mentorship opportunities that connect young women with industry professionals who can guide them as they navigate their careers.
ACHIEVE PHASE
The ACHIEVE phase is designed to equip participants with the tools and opportunities necessary for sustained success. The phase offers a wide range of resources, including career development workshops, networking events, and access to industry insights. This phase also fosters a strong community of peers and mentors who provide ongoing support as individuals progress in their careers.
THEORY OF CHANGE
The GFA Theory of Change (TOC) guides the development of evidence-based strategies, informs project monitoring and management, and provides a framework for evaluation and impact assessment.
Girls Fly Africa is a non–profit and public benefit organisation.
